BLT Done Right - Crispy, Fresh, Perfect

What You Need

  • Thick-cut bacon (6 strips)
  • Fresh white or wheat bread (toasted)
  • Ripe tomato (thick slices)
  • Fresh lettuce (crisp, not wilted)
  • Mayonnaise (good quality)
  • Salt and pepper

The Method

  1. Cook your bacon until it's crispy but not brittle. About 5–7 minutes depending on thickness. Drain on paper towels.
  2. Toast your bread until golden. This is crucial—it holds up to the tomato juice without falling apart.
  3. Spread mayo on both slices of toast. Layer: lettuce, tomato (salted and peppered), bacon. Top with the other slice.
  4. Slice diagonally. Always diagonally. It tastes better this way.
  5. Eat it fresh. The toast should still be warm, the bacon still crispy.

The Secret

The magic is in the quality of ingredients and timing. Fresh tomato. Good bread. Crispy bacon. Don't overthink it.
